4.4.8. Removal and installation of the regulator of the camshaft

Camshaft regulator

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the piston of the first cylinder in VMT.
2. Remove the top cover.
3. Mark the provision of asterisks of camshafts concerning a GRM drive chain.
4. Turn off a bolt (3), holding fittings (4) (shooter). Remove fittings (4).
5. Turn off a nut 6 and uncover with a ring (12).
6. Turn off a camshaft asterisk.
7. Remove an asterisk (13) and the adjusting piston (14). Turn off bolts (15) and (15a) and remove a flange (16) from an asterisk of the inlet camshaft.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install a flange (16) on the camshaft (22). Be convinced of correctness of installation of a finger 21.
2. Install the piston (14) on a flange (16) in the provided situation, rotating it to the left. Lift a GRM drive chain up.
3. Install an asterisk of the camshaft (13) on the adjusting piston (14) in the provided situation, rotating it to the right; lift a GRM drive chain before performance of it.
4. Establish a cover with a ring (12) and wrap a nut (6), but do not tighten completely.
5. Install an asterisk on the final camshaft.
6. Establish a GRM drive chain on both asterisks according to tags. Tighten a nut (6) on the regulator.
7. Install fittings (4) on a plunger (18). Tighten a bolt (3). The roller finger (shooter) in fittings (4) has to be combined with a flat surface on a plunger (18).

8. Establish a forward cover from above.
